I used to prove my worth with gold stars, good grades, and a relentless work ethic. “See?” I thought, “I’m valuable.” But underneath the productivity and perfectionism was a quiet fear: What if I’m not enough?
Overworking is a socially accepted way of chasing worth. It’s sneaky, because it can look like ambition, dedication, or even success. But if you peel back the layers, it often comes from a deep-seated belief that we need to earn our value through effort.
I thought I had conquered this, but the past few months has stirred up my tendency of over-work. This so much to learn and so many ideas for how to move my business ahead, that I am constantly busy. And in that frenzy, I’ve lost connection with some of the very self-care practices that were critical in my transformation.
The irony? My work is about joy, self-care, and alignment!
I have made it a practice to tune in to my intuition daily. I do this in several ways: both quiet meditation and an more active version where I let my mind wander as I jog. Both bring insights. In this way, I get ideas almost every day. But right now, my intuition is very strongly saying: Pause.
I’m being called to slow down. At first, there was some panic. What will happen if I stop spinning all these plates? I put the ideas on a list and waited to see what would happen.
I am seeing now that it has been a redirect. A cosmic nudge to expand, but not by doing more. Instead, by being more attuned and grounded. This is the difference between hustling and moving forward with aligned action.
Here’s the truth: Queens don’t hustle
They move differently. They act from clarity, not chaos. They lead with presence. They delegate. They trust that just because they can do something doesn’t mean they should. They don’t chase every shiny idea or respond to every demand. They don’t wear themselves out trying to hold it all together. Queens allow themselves to rest. They wait until it’s time.
So I ask you:
Where is your action coming from? Is it coming from fear or fullness? From obligation or desire? From proving… or from knowing?
Are you a Queen or a worker bee?
There is nothing wrong with building, with creating, with hard work, but it must be aligned. When we move from any other place, the vibration changes — and so do the results.
Instead of pushing on ALL the ideas, I am creating a list of possibilities. And when I am ready to act again, I will be able to make better choices that align with my direction and purpose. We aren’t meant to do everything, or at least all at once.
I encourage you to reflect on these questions. Close your eyes and ask your subconscious if it has any additional wisdom to share. Discuss with friends and supportive people in your life. Sometimes a fresh viewpoint can help you see blind spots you aren’t even aware of. Seeking support doesn’t make you less powerful — it’s one of the wisest things a Queen can do.
